I'm writing this at midnight.
If you're reading this post you likely already know who I am. For those who don't, my name is Veronyca (aka Rony). I'm a game design student, an animator, a musician, hell I'm a lot of things. Anyways the point of this site was to just have a place where I can dump all my stuff and post on a cute little blog. It's also my way of practicing HTML because my god am I bad at HTML. This comment will (hopefully) be outdated in the future but as you can tell this website is built a lot on zonelets, originally I just wanted the zonelets stuff to be a smaller part of the site while the main things I was working on while learning HTML would be like the main MAIN site but zonelets doesn't really play nice with all of that and frankly this format looks much better than what I was concocting.
With that being said though I do really want to expand this website with my own stuff as much as I can! Right now the layout of the site and the aesthetic is really basic and that's because this website is nowhere near done! I don't have a design in mind nor do I currently have the time to just sit down and design a whole website layout. Additionally I really want to add more cool stuff to the site like an art gallery/viewer, a page for web versions of games I'm working on, an archive page for random one off projects, and a store page where I can link all the stuff from my KoFi but with my own little aesthetic to it all! It'd also be really nice to revamp the blog layout to have thumbnails and a huge image in the center for the newest blogpost.
This is the part where I start talking about my life.
My sophmore year started a few days ago! Technically this is my fourth semester cuz I had to take a summer semester to catch up with my cohort (let's not talk about that!) but regardless the second year student life starts right here, right now. The worst part about going from a summer semester to a fall semester is that because my schedule is so much more packed my work hours got slashed in half, meaning I won't be getting paid as much. I work in a minimum wage job in Washington state so I make $17.25 an hour. In the summer I worked 20 hours a week so I made a pretty good amount every month for a part time campus job. But now my hours every week went down from 20 to 9, is that not crazy??? Worst part is my pay wasn't raised so I'm just not earning as much! At least the work load is way less physically demanding this semester since I'm not the only one taking out garbage anymore and I don't even need to help with restocking, but I'd be lying if I said being a cashier wasn't a little tiring when I have to wait like 20 minutes between influxes of hungry students.
Just to be clear I do like my job, for what it is it pays quite well and it's better than my other option of literally nothing. Yeah I don't get work insurance or anything but at least I can afford my meds now.
Closing Thoughts
I'd write a lot more but it's midnight and I'm tired AND I have work in the morning with classes following right after, so I think I'll leave it here for tonight. My next post will most likely be about cassette culture and how I accidentally got into vintage tech at the worst time possible!
